I blame my thoughts on the internet
But I know they were there before that
I tossed and turned when I was just a child
My mind imagining all of the different things
That could go wrong

Vampires camped out in my closet
A millions kinds of monsters under my bed
I don’t think of these things too much anymore
But they left tracks and grooves in my brain

I blame my thoughts on the foods I eat
But I know they were there when I was
Eating healthy for that six month phase
No refined sugars, no late night burgers
What could go wrong?

Vampires camped out it my closet
A million kinds of monsters under my bed
I don’t think of these things too much anymore
But they have taken different forms in my brain, like:
Vampire of regret
The monster of fear and fear itself
And all of the creatures that just latched on along the way

I blame my thoughts on a lack of exercise
But I know they were there before that
I played outside with my friends all the time when I was a kid
Guns in the woods I’m talking hats versus hoods
But when I came inside

It felt like:
It was just me and the vampire crew
Chilling with the monsters under my bed
Tell me how did they first get into my room?
Why did they never make their move?
